Named in honour of a life spent climbing the vines in the rainforest around Cairns, North Queensland (Kuranda) and working with the smallest fundamental aspect of the digital realm. We create beautiful imagery for the soul and offer a range of services to activate your project, lets create your image!
We are a fully functional graphic design studio and can cater to your unique project requirements. We are happy to discuss your desires for commercial or private commissioned artwork and will endeavor to create an outstanding result. We are focused on socially conscious projects, wherever possible encouraging other artists, writers, musicians and farmers to develop their business with our images.

Ordering of original art prints
Jungle Pixel offers original art work in the creative section. Canvas prints are available. The works are all by Pira Melody. We use Giclée archival museum grade prints that will last a lifetime. All artworks are limited edition, signed by the artist and your purchase supports local arts projects.
A portion of all profits goes to rejuvenating our land through tree planting around the studio in Kuranda, Queensland, Australia.

Training for digital artists
We are happy to offer private and group training sessions in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and Mac OSX. This is currently available to people living in Ubud, Bali. There is a scheduled workshop being presented in April, 2012 for any interested participants.. Our rates are very affordable, we want you all to release your inner artist.

1999 - Present. Jungle Pixel Studios - Graphic Design studio.
Owner/Operator/Designer.
This is an on-going project that was established in the Cairns area, as a freelance design studio. Work has appeared in many local and National publications through out Australia (Newspapers, Magazines, Bill boards, Brochures, Posters, Corporate branding, etc). Primarily focused on print-based media. Specializing in logo design and colour work. Mac OSX private and group training facilitation. Skilled in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Indesign), Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver, Flash, Director, Word.
2006 - 2007. Telemark Films - Documentary film production studio,.
Animator/Motion Graphics Designer.
A high end production job that was completed in nine months. The studio in Connecticut (USA) completed two broadcast television documentaries in collaboration with Pira. One was titled 'The Real McCoy', a historical account of the rum-running trade and the character of William McCoy in the 1920's prohibition era of the US. This was a 90 minute feature.
Pira was responsible for all animation and graphics content used in this film.
The second film was about the Cod fishing industry regulations and the decline of fish stocks in the North Atlantic, this was a 60 min feature. Entitled; ‘Fisheries - A Cautionary Tale’. Pira’s role was to produce motion graphics and to train interns in the process of design for animation.
2001 - 2004. CityLife & Backpacker Magazines - Magazine publishing & advertising.
Head Designer.
Advertising design and all publishing requirements were performed. Full-production and content generation for monthly publications produced in Cairns. Freelance/contract based and interspersed over 3 years. Produced content material for a wide range of clients from Cairns and surrounding areas.
2004. Bolton Imprint - Print house.
Head Designer.
Managed a head design position within the oldest print shop in Cairns. Dealt with many clients and briefs, as well as landing high-end clients through creative submissions. Prepared CMYK plates for delivery to an off-set press.
2003 - 2004. Peter Lik Publishing - Photography & Publishing.
Head Designer & Photoshop-guru.
Used as the 'secret' photo retouching expert, within the Peter Lik group in Cairns. Daily jobs included, high end scanning and colour correction. Also created and retouched published books for the company. Personally edited and mastered over a hundred gallery prints. The galleries operate in Australia and the United States, with 150 core images used. Contributed to brand enhancement effectively lifting sales from $1M AU per a year to over $30M per year for gallery sales of Limited edition prints.
2002 - 2003. Adpower - Advertising agency.
Graphic Designer.
As part of a rapidly growing design agency, the most awarded in North Queensland, Pira was a designer for the team. Duties were mainly for print based news media, advertising sector. Many corporate clients were satisfied including; Toyota, Stockland Australia, Daikyo, etc. Very demanding deadline oriented work was completed. We won numerous low-budget creative pitches and Telstra Media awards of which Pira contributed toward.
1997 - 1998. Peter Jarver - Wildscape Photographics.
Colour corrector and Photoshop mastering.
Mastered landscape photographs using Photoshop for high-end printed media. Professional masking, burning and dodging and colour correction work. Images appeared in galleries throughout Australia, and various published books.
