Internal Reflections
© 2010, Pira Melody
Using chalk pastel pencils this is done as Mische technique. A black page worked with colour in reverse space. The dialoge is about the universe coming to know of itself through internal reflections shown as a woman with a sacred geometry face using a hand held mirror to contemplate existence.

Peak within Reach

Pastels on Canvas. This was my first attempt with oil pastels. It was my last year of school and things were pretty hectic, so I hid in the art room and created this little beast. It was the story of breaking through from the oppression of the world, and growing to new heights.

Enlightened Steps

Raw pencil sketch. This is the story of a man's struggle up the seemingly straighforward path toward enlightenmind within.

Pervortices

Raw pen on paper. Unrestricted flow of emotional release. This was done at age seventeen. Go figure, it makes very little sense.
-
Subteranimous

Raw pen on paper. This was my first attempt at pointillism to define shapes. Oddly amusing.

Mutterings

Raw pen. Again this has some subtle symbology and is open to interpretation. Something about being 'under the thumb' comes to mind.

Rafter Dude

Raw Pen on pad. This was a rather rough attempt at portraying some dude on a raft on white water...hmm

Grey's Viz

Raw Pen on pad. This was transpired while in Union Square of Manhattan city, NY. I was enchanted by the meditation session that had occured with the great artist, Alex Grey.

Shenandosile
© 2006, Pira Melody
Raw pen on pad. This was a fun little free flow that happened while aboard the great Shennandoah tall ship of Martha's Vineyard. We had a week long charter with the Grade Five children of Chillmark school, and we were all sketching for fun.

Masked

Pencil on paper. This was my second attempt at using coloured pencils to draw. It turned out alright I reckon. The three characters are real people, I can't remember all their names. The green dude is Bhagwan Shree Ragneesh.

Haven's Gate

Raw pen on pad. I was sitting outside Mocha Mott's in Vineyard Haven enjoying a burrito when this little sketch evolved.

Limitator

Raw pen on pad. This was the confusion that errupted after an arduous journey by bus from New York to upstate whoop-whoop. My friend and I had arranged to rendevous but alas I ended up stranded in hicksville. This was the culmination of disturbed thoughts.
